Many of our ingredients are purchased directly from villagers and gatherers across Africa and the tropical world. Our pricing reflects the true labour involved—from harvesting and extraction to the finished product.
By paying fairly, we help ensure that local gatherers can earn a sustainable livelihood from their knowledge, labor, and natural resources. This reduces the pressure to sell valuable resources cheaply out of necessity.

We work in small batches because freshness and careful handling matter. Our herbs are gathered according to their natural growing cycles, selected by hand and shipped soon after picking. They do not spend months sitting in warehouses or waiting to enter a large-scale production line. Working this way allows each harvest to receive the attention it deserves. Smaller quantities are easier to inspect, handle and prepare with care, helping the herbs retain their natural character, aroma and quality. It also gives us greater traceability, allowing us to remain closely connected to where each ingredient comes from, when it was gathered and who gathered it.
Immediate shipping also means that availability follows nature rather than industrial demand. Some herbs may only be collected at particular times of year or in limited quantities. We respect these natural limits instead of pushing the land and its gatherers to produce more than is responsible.
